Precious Baby Moments

Kristen is 6 and a half months old! Eek!

She is starting to sit on her own, hold her arms out when she wants to be picked up. So adorable. The sweetest part of my day is catching her glance, and seeing her give me a HUGE smile and reach her arms out to me. I love that.

This morning around 6am when she woke up to nurse, she finished and then let out this extremely contented sigh and all was right in the world. I love these baby moments. I hope I never forget them.

Ha-watt-ii

If Leonard decides to re-enlist, he is up for picking new orders by April. We will be PCS'ing around January. We were talking about the different options, and Cameron piped in that he wanted to move to "Ha-watt-ii"
Unfortunately, we are only eligible for east coast stations [I guess the military is tightening their belts and don't want to pay for a cross country move] So no island living for us :/

Lily!

My oldest friend here in Jacksonville, had her baby girl this morning at 1:05a.m. I just got back from visiting them in the hospital. Doesn't Kristen look huge next to her? LOL Kristen is unofficially 13.5 lbs now at 4 months!

PreSchool

I just got home from touring the most wonderful preschool! It is part of a private school, K4-12, and they have VPK! [state funded half day program for 4 year olds] The teachers were AWESOME! The curriculum is very Montessori-like. They were telling me that if Cameron was more on par with the kindergarten kids in learning, he could be in their "classroom." They have 2 four year olds in there right now. The day consists of a list of 5 subjects [math, reading, etc] with the activity personalized to each child (yes this teacher works hard!) And they can do the work in any order that they want. There is a time each day for the "other" programs like art, drama, baking, gardening, and spanish!
I absolutely love it! Registration starts Feb 2, but the director said I am on the list and we deff. have a spot. I am so excited!!!!

I hate this town.

Yesterday we decided to stop by Panera to get some treats. Cameron got a gift card from Grandma for Christmas and he wanted to use it! :) As we were pulling up, Cameron said "I want to sit in the back room with all of my friends, mom!" See, for years in St Pete, we often met with our mommy friends to sit in the group meeting room in the back of Panera on 4th street to have lunch or breakfast, or just coffee. The kids could run around, because it was closed off from the rest of the restaurant. I had to tell him, sadly, that we weren't in St Pete, and our friends were not here. That this is the Panera Bread in Jacksonville, so it was just going to be the three of us (him, Kristen, and I.) He then said that he missed his friends Hayden and Isabelle and wanted to play with them. If that wasn't sad enough, then he told me "And baby misses her baby friends like Hudson, Simone, Cora Jane, and Oliver Buzz." Aww! My aching heart! My little boy misses his friends! [it's REALLY time to make that scrapbook I have been meaning to for him] Then he said "We only have ONE friend in Jacksonville, and that's Thatcher." So here it is, for your viewing pleasure, a picture of my boy and his only friend.
